Why do I need to have my phone line connected to the Digital Set Top Box?

A phone line connection is required in order to provide non-interrupted programming. Its primary purpose is to provide continuous access to Pay-per-view movies and events. If the phone line is not connected you will only be able to order a limited amount of Pay Per View without letting the Digital Set Top Box update its smart card via the phone line. The phone line will not interfere with your telephone use.

Can I set my programming to exclude certain channels?

Yes, Each network has control over its own programming lineup. Please understand that the programming offered by Ygnition Network does not necessarily reflect the views of the company. Any questions or comments regarding a network's programming content should be addressed with that network directly. Please refer to http://www.zap2it.com/ to obtain the addresses of all networks.

Can I use my own digital box?

We use digital receivers that work with a QAMS system. These are different than any other kind of Dish receiver. For this reason, other receivers will not work with our service. (Subject to change)

Do I need to have a Digital Set Top Box for every TV in my house?

Can I use a DVR such as TiVO or Replay TV with Ygnition Cable TV?

DVR's will work with our service. If you have digital service, when programming the DVR you will have to tell the DVR to use Dish Networks service instead of Ygnition.   If you are trying to use a DVR with our Analog service you will have to program the channels in manually. Please check with your DVR's manufacturer for instructions on how to do this.

Do I need to provide all the cables for my connection?

Ygnition will supply our customers with 1 coaxial cable at the time of install. This is enough to make the connection work as long as there are no other devices. For example: VCR, DVD, and TIVO, devices would need additional cables that would need to be supplied by the customer.

When the tech comes out to do the install, what do I need to do?

•  As the customer, you must make sure that the CATV outlet(s) are available to the tech and that he will have full access to them.

•  For Digital installs, the tech will need to have a space prepared for the cable box, and a power outlet to plug into.

•  Under no circumstances will our tech move furniture or pick up a television.

•  Cables will not be run in front of a walkway or doorway (to protect you from tripping on the cord) and will not be more than 10 ft in length.

These guidelines are in place to ensure the safety of our technician and our customers.

Why do I need to give my SSN to activate digital service?

Do I need to be home for my Digital installation?

In order to protect your personal information we do need you there to give us the SSN and to sign the service agreement. This is done to maximize your personal security.

Why doesn't Fox Sports Net show my local teams? What can I do to make sure I see all the games?

Fox Sports has multiple feeds for sporting events. Our analog service provides the main feed. Fox Sports will decide what to play on a game-by-game basis. What's VCR Plus?

VCR Plus is a service that is used in conjunction with the on screen program guide (otherwise know as TV Guide Plus). Each program listing is given a code that marks its channel, day, time, and length.  This program/code can then be activated from the digital box. The digital box will then send a signal to the VCR Plus Ready VCR to start and stop recording. As per the listing on Dish Networks website, all their digital tuners are capable of these transmissions.   Some things to keep in mind are:

•  The signal is sent from the digital box via an IR emitter to the VCR, so physical obstructions like cabinet doors and other furniture can block the transmission. The transmission will not travel from room to room.

•  The VCR must be capable of, and set up for receiving VCR Plus signals. This feature must also be enabled in the VCR menu (refer to the VCR's user manual on how to do this).

More information on what to do if the VCR Plus is not working properly can be found here.
